SkyBus Accelerates Your Airport Journey with Increased Services

Travelling to and from Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport just got even easier with the city’s iconic SkyBus offering increased frequency on both the Melbourne City Express and Peninsula Express services from July 30.

The Melbourne City Express will run every 10 minutes during peak hours from 7am to 7pm (currently 8am to 5pm) meaning customers can turn up and go without any hassle. Outside of these times the service continues to operate every 15 minutes between 4am and 1am.

Two additional services will also see an increased frequency to the Peninsula Express service with departures to Frankston every 45 minutes during peak travel periods on weekdays between 8am and 10am, or between 10am and 1pm travelling to the airport.

SkyBus Melbourne General Manager Jason Balkin said the service improvements would give customers even more reason to choose SkyBus.

"All customers need to know is if you arrive at Melbourne Airport during peak periods there’ll be a bus departing every 10 mins to get you into the city from just $18” Mr Balkin said.

“We will continue to offer unbeatable value and service, and with high-frequency departures operating for longer it is easy to see why SkyBus remains the hassle-free option to get to and from the airport.”

Since its return in December 2022, customers have embraced the Peninsula Express service which connects passengers from Tullamarine airport to Melbourne’s south-eastern and bayside suburbs with more than 68,000 people travelling on the service in just 7 months.

In response to passenger demand a new stop has been introduced on the Peninsula Express service at Glen Huntly Road in Elwood. Meanwhile two under-utilised stops, Frankston Nepean Highway (at 396 Nepean Highway) and North Brighton (on Bay St) will be removed ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

SkyBus passengers can enjoy a range of premium features designed to enhance their comfort and convenience. These include complimentary Wi-Fi, electronic ticketing, and no excess baggage charges.

Securing your tickets for SkyBus services is effortless and convenient. Passengers can purchase their tickets through the SkyBus App, website, e-Kiosks located at Melbourne Airport, or directly on board using card payment on Peninsula Express services.
