New SkyBus services for Melbourne’s East and West

SkyBus’s iconic airport express bus service will land in Melbourne’s eastern and western suburbs in 2025, giving more Melburnians and visitors alike access to fast, frequent and affordable travel to and from the city’s biggest airport.

A new Sunshine Express service will connect Sunshine Station in the city’s west with Melbourne Airport, and a new Eastern Express will provide direct and easy access to the airport for communities around Box Hill, Watsonia and Doncaster.

The Eastern Express service will launch on 31 August 2025, with tickets on sale on 8 August.

The 7-day-a-week service will travel to and from Box Hill station and Melbourne Airport, stopping at Watsonia and Doncaster.

Customers will be able to buy Eastern Express tickets at the special introductory price of $9.99*, with tickets valid 3 months from purchase.

The Sunshine Express service will commence in November 2025, travelling directly between Sunshine station and Melbourne Airport.

The services will complement SkyBus’s flagship City Express service connecting travellers with Southern Cross Station in the city and the Peninsula Express service providing connections to south-east bayside suburbs.

To make things even better for SkyBus users, the Sunshine Express will launch with an all-electric fleet, while the Eastern Express will be full electric in 2026. By 2031, all SkyBus services will run on electric vehicles, providing quieter and greener transport and a world-class welcome for visitors to Melbourne.
