Riding the wave of food truck obsession, bustling High Street Preston is home to the Food Truck Park; an old converted car yard now put to much better use.

The space is decorated with exposed hanging bulbs, brightening the park as the sun goes down and is covered in fake grass underfoot. It’s comfortable without being cramped, with trucks and stalls surrounding tables and umbrellas. There’s even an indoor warehouse space for when it gets a little chilly. The food trucks are on high rotation with different themes each weekend – the park’s only staple is the fully licensed Barry’s Bar, serving wine, cans and craft beer and cider on tap.

The Food Truck Park runs regular events such as the Sweet Tooth Fest. Warm up with fresh hot doughnuts from Manny’s Doughnuts, crepes from Naughty Frenchy or handcrafted greek delights from Lukumades. Or kick off proceedings with something savoury; there’s loaded hotdogs, gourmet burgers and toasted sandwiches. Over the winter months there is a huge variety of trucks stopping by. MeatFest and the All American Feast case out weekends in June and the Chilli and Spice Weekend kicks off July. You can check out the whole lineup here or find each event on Facebook. The vendor lineups will be released soon.

Just across town at Village Cinemas Coburg Drive-In, catch The Food Truck Festival. Presented by The Food Truck Park, this monthly event combines drive-in movies and delicious food… what more could you ask for on a winter’s night! The next sessions are from 5pm on the 12th and 13th of July. For more information check out the Facebook event here.

So pay Preston and it’s cracking Food Truck Park a visit this winter. Their stellar winter lineup has something for everyone!
