Melbourne warmly welcomes the return of the Good Beer Week festival, brightening up chilly May with a fantastic array of events designed to get you out and about with your mates, enjoying good food and good beer.
Coupling up with venues from around the city and state, Good Beer Week aims to showcase local produce and local communities, and wants to challenge the current perception of beer and alcohol in society today. Featuring everything beer, famous chefs, incredible menus, live music and even a fashion show, the event also hosts the Australian International Beer Awards.
The range of food and beer related events is truly mouthwatering, and plenty of them won’t break the bank. For $70 a pop, Two Birds Brewing and Boatrocker join forces with Bar Nacional to bring you a three course Spanish feast matched with Spanish beers. Collingwood favourite Le Bon Ton teams up with Blue Moon offering a special one off feast for $90 that will be sure to last all night. And for only $60, enjoy a long lunch at with four delicious courses at Tap831 and specially brewed beers from Edge Brewing.
If you wanted to splurge a little more and try something a bit left of field, Meatsmith and Moondog are offering a masterclass demonstrating how to make your own pastrami, with a take home pastrami kit and a 4 pack of Moondog beers included. Enjoy a tour of the brewery and canapés by Meatsmith during the day. Or spend a sunny day out on Albert Park Golf Course, with a Modus beer after each hole in Holes ’n’ Hops. And the winners take home a 50L keg!
