Shining the spotlight on Melbourne's well-established but ever-growing food and wine industry is the acclaimed Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. One-off events, visiting international chefs, special menus and tours culminate in a 10 day food extravaganza, held both throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria. 

With a huge number of things to do and taste as part of the festival, it's hard to know where to begin. Listed below are several of our favourites, each as different as the next.

Crawl 'n' Bite

What's involved: An convenient way to explore three of the city's favourite restaurants in one night, with a dish and matched drink at each stop.

Hellenic Republic Block Party

What's involved: A huge party, filled with live music, great Greek food and cocktails. This is sure to go on all night!

Wine Weekend

What's involved: In a relaxed setting, join in wine tasting with winemakers and learn their history and craft and a thing or two about the Australian win industry.

Laila El-Haddad Gazan Cuisine

What's involved: Exploring the flavours of Gaza in a unique masterclass, international chef Laila El-Haddad will demonstrate recipes and share her knowledge on Gazan cuisine and history. 


72 Tram, starting at Milton Wine Shop, 1427 Malvern Road, Malvern
12pm, Saturday 8 April

What's involved: Three wine bars, one tram route; starting at Milton Wine Shop for burgundy and buns, you’ll hop on the tram to Toorak Cellars for oysters and champagne, finishing at The Alps for resting and raclette.

Coburg Food Race

Sydney Road, Coburg

What's involved: Race around the streets of Coburg searching for ingredients and solving clues in preparation of the final prize - a shared lunch!
