For the month of November, Melbourne takes it’s famous food obsession to a whole new level. Good Food Month sees a huge range of events and activities on show for Melburnians and visitors alike. Melbourne’s Good Food Month celebrates and recognises the city’s food culture, trends and style, and there is no better way to explore this then by dropping by the Night Noodle Markets.

Emulating hawker style Asian food markets and encapsulating their frenetic energy, the Night Noodle Market showcases some of Melbourne's best Asian restaurants. Amongst the 45+ stalls, you’ll find household names such as Mr Miyagi, Wonderbao, Sake and Gelato Messina. There are some delicious (and adventurous) menus on offer such as golden fries topped with shredded peking duck and spring onions from Bao Stop and Taiwanese salt and pepper popcorn chicken from Ghost Kitchen. On top of menus from Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian and Filipino kitchens, there are a handful of dessert stalls to finish off your night in spectacular fashion. Prices range from $5 to $20 so there is something for everyone and every budget.

Situated on the banks of the Yarra River in the Birrarung Marr parkland, the market is gorgeously lit by strings of lanterns and fairy lights. It’s easily accessible from Batman Avenue and Federation Square alongside the river. Wander through and around the three main spaces (the upper, middle and lower terraces) or pull up a patch of grass and watch the sun set over the city skyline. There are also plenty of seating areas to relax in and bars to quench your thirst. DJ’s and live entertainment provide the perfect atmosphere for summer.

The lights, sounds, smells and tastes of the Night Noodle Markets are the perfect ingredients for a great night spent outdoors in Melbourne.
