SkyBus’ Big White Ribbon Day Oath

“SkyBus is committed to promoting positive attitudes and behaviours towards women within the larger community."

Melbourne, Australia – In conjunction with White Ribbon Day 2017, SkyBus, operators of Melbourne’s popular airport express services, has taken the oath to support and champion White Ribbon Australia’s cause to stop men’s violence against women.

Dubbed the White Ribbon Decker, SkyBus has dedicated and wrapped it in the White Ribbon Day colours of black and white, away from its iconic red, to amplify this worthy cause and the oath taken.

SkyBus Co-CEOs and Directors, Adam Begg and Michael Sewards said: “We are extremely passionate about this cause both personally and as an organisation, and it gives us great pleasure to be able to assist this campaign through our White Ribbon Decker.”

“SkyBus is committed to promoting positive attitudes and behaviours towards women within the larger community. We also want to provide a safe working environment for all our employees and have a zero tolerance policy on violence of any sorts. Equally, our bus drivers are trained to handle any such incidents while on duty to ensure the safety of all our passengers,” added Mr Begg and Mr Sewards.

Through this initiative, SkyBus employees were encouraged to pen their signature as an oath, literally along the side of its White Ribbon Decker. Further to that, information posters have been posted throughout its offices and depots to educate employees to STOP (See, Talk, Offer, Prevent) any disrespect and violence against women.

Long-time supporters of worthy causes, the White Ribbon Decker is the second dedicated cause-related SkyBus following the introduction of its Pink Lady bus in 2016 in support of breast cancer awareness.

The White Ribbon Decker is scheduled to run throughout summer.
