Melbourne, Australia – The AATS Group of companies, majority owned by OPTrust, (trading as SkyBus) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman, Andrew McEvoy, as it embarks on its next phase of growth.

A tourism and travel sector leader for 25 years, Mr McEvoy is also Chair of listed travel and tourism company the Sealink Travel Group, and a Director of several other listed and privately held companies including Ingenia Communities (INA) and Lux Group, owner of Luxury Escapes. He was formerly CEO and Managing Director of Tourism Australia.

“SkyBus could not be happier to announce the appointment of our new Chair Andrew McEvoy, a business leader with a strong reputation on the national stage and immense experience in our sector,” AATS Director Stan Kolenc said.

“With a 40-year heritage in Victoria SkyBus has grown to become Australasia’s premier airport transit provider, and as we embark on our next phase of growth we are privileged to have someone of Andrew’s calibre to lead us on that journey,” Mr Kolenc said.

Mr McEvoy takes over the Chairmanship from Trent Peterson, who has held the role for a period of four years since the inception of AATS in 2014.

“I’m excited by the prospects of SkyBus. This convenient, affordable way of transiting passengers from airports to their final destination is essential if we are to alleviate the blockage experienced at most Australian and overseas ports. The team have already built a reputation for innovation and service delivery and I hope to add further value to what is a growth story.” Mr McEvoy said.

“The Board of AATS wishes to thank Trent for his tireless commitment, work and energy to the success of the AATS Group over our first four years. The growth of SkyBus from one airport service in 2014 to 15 services operating at five airports in two countries is due in no small part to the contribution and leadership of Trent as Chairman,” Mr Kolenc said.

For more than 40 years SkyBus has provided Victorians with a fast, frequent and affordable airport transit service. Today, SkyBus delivers airport transit services from locations around Melbourne, Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula, along the Gold Coast, in Hobart and Auckland.
