Hassle-free transfers to your city hotel
At no extra cost for SkyBus passengers, SkyBus can transfer you to your city hotel or motel from our city terminal using our fleet of mini-buses.
What are the hours of operation?
The SkyBus Hotel Service operates during the following hours:
Monday to Friday: 0600 - 2130
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: 0730 - 1730
We do not operate this service on Christmas Day
What do I need to do?
Arriving at Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine
- You do not need to book the SkyBus Hotel Service to get to your hotel.
- From Melbourne Airport, take SkyBus to our Melbourne city terminal situated at Southern Cross Station (in Spencer Street).
- You then transfer onto a SkyBus Hotel mini-bus, which delivers you to your hotel or motel. No booking is required and the mini-buses are available during operating hours (refer above).
Departing Melbourne
- You need to reserve a pick-up time for the SkyBus Hotel Service for your trip to the airport. It is essential that you book your pick-up at least the day before departure.
- Ask your concierge to call SkyBus on 9600 1711.(Please quote your room number)
- The SkyBus Hotel Service will take you from your hotel to our city terminal where you will board a SkyBus express service to the airport.
- SkyBus will endeavour to provide transfers to all passengers at the nominated time, but reserves the right to offer alternative pick up time or decline transport due to capacity and/or operational requirements.
Major Events Restriction
We regret hotel transfers will not be available to and from venues adjacent to Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) East Melbourne and Etihad Stadium at Docklands when these venues are being utilised for major events, because of traffic restrictions. This period takes effect:- 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the event, 30 minutes prior to scheduled finish and 90 minutes after the end of the event.
You may utilise the trams and trains to and from these areas to SkyBus at Southern Cross Station.

Terminals

Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine)
SkyBus operates from two locations at Melbourne Airport right outside arrivals at:
- Terminal T1 - serving Qantas Domestic, QantasLink and Jetstar Domestic.
- Terminal T2 - passengers arriving at the international terminal can catch SkyBus kerbside at T1 or T3, which are only a few steps away.
- Terminal T3 - serving Virgin Blue Domestic, Tiger Airways, Regional Express, and all International flights
- Terminal T4 - passengers arriving on Tiger Airways can catch SkyBus kerbside at T3, which is only a few steps away.
Melbourne City/Southern Cross Station
- The SkyBus city terminal is located undercover at Southern Cross Station, near the corner of Bourke Street and Spencer Street.
Luggage Limits
- Limit of two large suitcases per person.
- Excess baggage will be carried on the basis of space availability.
- SkyBus shall not be liable for any loss, damage or delay to luggage carried.
- No pets can be carried on board.
- Bikes can be carried on-board if dismantled and secured in a box.
Mobility Access

- The SkyBus fleet is Australia’s first fleet of 100% mobility-enhanced rapid transit vehicles, for wheelchair passenger access.
- Equipped with kneel-down suspension, the vehicles are easy to access by mobility-impaired passengers.
- The SkyBus Hotel fleet is also enhanced for mobility-impaired passengers, with wheelchair lifts installed on all Hotel mini-buses.
- We ask that you call SkyBus on 9600 1711 the day before you travel to confirm if you need wheelchair access on SkyBus Hotel Service.
